I don't believe its free, unless it came with Windows2000XP
I got mine at "Best Buy" CompUSA has 'em too.
Imo, Nero 6 has the fewest bugs, if any.
The free Musicmatch Jukebox is good also and has the "no gaps between tracks" option

right here >> http://www.musicmatch.com/download/free/?OS=pc&MODE=input&DID=&OEM=MMD&LANG=&SOURCE=learn_more
Except for the nagscreen, it's pretty good (for free)
It plays the streams also, but those timings are not accurate. Example, it will report a track as 20min while it's actually 16min

gotta go paint a house now, i actually have a life today-lol
oh yeah, get the free musicmatch DFX 7.0 with that also

WinAmp and EAC (Exact Audio Copy) are still free as far as I know--google and you will find them. I have both and they work just great, though EAC and some burners have issues what brand cds are used. For example, I cannot use memorex silvers, I get an error message that there is data on the disc. I use TYs and never have a problem.

NERO isn't free. They offer 30 day trial versions that work temporarily. I won't even touch their new 7 series. Too many bugs.

I use the last retail box version of Nero 6.6.018 RELOADED.
Don't install the old 6.3 series on a Windows XP/SP-2 platform.

Nero 5.5.xx is the best for working with music! You can remove the 2 second gaps and crossfade to the 1/10th of a second. These older versions are no longer updated or offered as a Demo either. You have no choice but to download them from underground warez sites or a P2P service.
